History

Early settlers were forced to clear the area of savage humanoids, and were constantly forced to defend their land against competing orc and goblin hordes. As control of the land shifted between factions, the elves of The Liaglades eventually united with the humans to drive the savage hordes east into the Bloodspires, where their bloody war continues to this day. The elves have since retreated back into the Liaglades, but still maintain relations with the diverse population of Port Magalie. A subtle tension exists between Liaglade Elves and those of other backgrounds residing in the area.

Rulers and power politics of Port Magalie

Port Magalie's current highest authority, Lord Weers, has a firm grip over the affairs of the city and is thought as one of the major reasons why the city has gained prosperity and has avoided open confrontations with the restless groups of humanoid tribes northeast. The firm grip has it's grimmer side in that many justly think Lord Weers as just another tyrant who finds ways of suppressing any echoes of opposition. In reality one of the key elements to Lord Weers' success is his magical adviser, the half-elven High Counselor Colm Theron, who goes to great lengths to keep himself out of the awareness of the general public instead pulling strings and exerting influence behind dark curtains.
