Nagolish Empire
From CWBP
The Nagolish Empire ruled much of Ansium and the bordering lands of the great sea to its south for almost a thousand years. The empire mysteriously fell into ruin and the Nagoli peoples faded into shadows of their former selves, losing their enlightened and highly civilized culture and turning instead to a barbaric lifestyle and might-makes-right form of rule.

Origins
According to the few remaining records, most recovered from abandoned libraries in the dry eastern reaches of the old empire, the Nagolish Empire was founded originally as the Republic of Thorshish in what is now known as The Luwath Peninsula in the territory of Orvaelos. It spread quickly through southern Ansium and in fact they are theorized to be the origin of that name. After a bloody war with the northern peoples as they attempted to expand north of what is now Groam, the military forced control from the civilian-elected Council of the Hundred and titled their new leader Emperor of the Nagolish, or "Goshilar". With newfound single-minded determination, the Empire turned eastward towards the Deserts of Juu and across the sea to the northern coasts of Sholdis. Within the lifetime of the first Goshilar, a retired general named Purden Pol Yordis Pel Iridos, they had control of almost half of the known world and were firmly established as the primary power in it.
