Arya is an old lake port town whose entire industry is based on harvesting the riches of Qashya. A fleet of 50 fishing boats ply the lake working their nets to catch trout, lake salmon, pike and the schools of sunfish, bluegill and other pan fish. Various mollusks including clams and lake oysters are raised in the mudflats nearest the shore.

A noon barge takes the morning's catch to Calishem each day.

The Serovich family has been harvesting a particular strain of clam that exudes a purple sepia, they have managed to preserve and optimize into a deep setting purple dye. This rare color dye is the most expensive available, thus the color has been called a noble's color for its cost and rarity.

It is believed that the spectre of fisherwife drown from storm tossed waves while awaiting the return of her husband and his day's catch, haunts the cove just beyond the wharfage. She is sometimes seen walking the wharf during the early evening, and has appeared on the deck of fishing boats pulling into the harbor.
